## What is Agent Text?

Agent Text is a text-for-info service built specifically for real estate. A small "sign rider" mounts to the bottom of a yard sign and reads "text 1234 to 555-555-1234 for pictures and price." When a buyer texts the code from the curb, they get the listing details on their phone within seconds and the listing agent receives the buyer's phone number as a lead by SMS and email. There is no app for the buyer to install. The service has been running for real estate agents and brokerages since 2009.

Every code also has a QR code, so buyers can either text or scan, the QR code opens an SMS composer pre-filled with the same code, and both paths produce the same lead.

## How it works

1. **Sign up and get a code.** Each plan comes with one or more short numeric codes (like 1234) paired with a phone number whose area code matches your market.
2. **Put the rider on a sign.** Order printed Rigibond sign riders from us or print them at any local sign shop using artwork we provide. Both options carry the same text-to instructions and QR code.
3. **A buyer texts the code.** Within seconds they get the listing details, photos, price, beds/baths, link to a mobile listing site, back on their phone.
4. **You get the lead.** The buyer's phone number arrives by text and email, tagged with the exact code that was texted so you know which listing they were looking at.
5. **Reuse the code.** When the listing closes, update the property info in your dashboard and move the rider to the next sign. Codes are yours to keep for as long as your account is active.

### Optional sign riders

Sign riders are an optional add-on. Riders are printed on durable Rigibond (aluminum-bonded plastic) and shipped from a United States printing partner. Pricing is per bundle: 1 for $44, 3 for $88, 5 for $132, 10 for $201, with larger bundles at $401 (20), $876 (50), and $1652 (100). You can also bring your own riders from any sign shop, we will send you the artwork for your code and you are not required to buy riders from us.

## Lead delivery and CRM compatibility

Agent Text supports three ways to get leads into your CRM. First, direct one-click integrations: Follow Up Boss, Pipedrive, and Lofty can be connected via OAuth from the dashboard, and Moxie can be connected with an API key, every new lead is pushed to the CRM automatically. Second, Zapier: Wise Agent has a one-click Zap template, and any of 8,000+ other apps (BoomTown, Top Producer, kvCORE, Google Sheets, Slack, and more) can be wired up via Zapier. Third, lead emails are formatted to import cleanly via your CRM's email-in address, which works with most real estate CRMs including LionDesk, Sierra Interactive, Real Geeks, and others. You can also export leads to CSV from your dashboard at any time. Every lead is tagged with the code that was texted, so you know exactly which listing the buyer was standing in front of.

For property managers, the auto-reply can include unit details plus a direct link to your tenant application form. Works with TurboTenant, AppFolio, Buildium, RentRedi, Avail, Yardi, Rent Manager, Propertyware, and any other system that produces a unique application URL.

## Team and brokerage features

Team plans are priced per code, not per agent, add and remove agents as your roster shifts at no extra cost. The office manager creates the account, invites agents by email, and assigns codes to specific agents. When a buyer texts a code, the lead lands directly in the listing agent's inbox and shows up in the office manager's rollup dashboard. Reassign codes between agents as listings change hands.

## Company and history

Agent Text was founded in 2009 by Alfie La Peter, a real estate agent running a small brokerage at the time. The company has been continuously operated and founder-run ever since.

The product came out of a simple experiment Alfie ran on his own yard signs. He put the office number on the sign alongside his personal name and direct mobile number. The office line rang. His personal line never did, not once. The lesson was that buyers driving by a listing did not want to talk to an agent; they wanted one thing: the price. If the answer required calling a stranger, most just kept driving. Agent Text was built to give buyers exactly that, text a short code, get the price and listing details in seconds, while quietly capturing the buyer's real mobile number for the agent in the same exchange.

QR codes have an unusual history at Agent Text. The very first version of the product in 2009 included a QR code printed on the sign rider, but in 2009 almost nobody knew what a QR code was or how to scan one, so it was removed within a year. QR codes returned in 2017 once smartphones could scan them natively, and they still work the same distinctive way: scanning the code opens a pre-filled SMS composer on the buyer's phone, not a web form. One tap sends the text, and the agent gets the buyer's real mobile number, not a form fill with a fake email. This QR-to-text mechanic remains uncommon in real estate; most brokerage QR codes still link to a web form.

The company has stayed small and founder-run on purpose. Alfie still personally reads customer email, responds to support requests, and builds the product.
